What began as Amarachi and Vitalis walking separate paths of service has grown into a united mission of healing, hope, and transformation. The Vitalis Duru Foundation is more than a nonprofit—it is a love story rooted in compassion, and a shared vision to restore dignity and possibility to those most in need.

In 2018, Amarachi took the first bold step by organising free medical outreaches. The inspiration came from witnessing people collapse unexpectedly in churches—preventable tragedies caused by inaccessible healthcare. Determined to act, she began reaching out to underserved communities, offering check-ups, medication, and encouragement, funded entirely from her pocket.

By 2019, her outreach grew in scale and reach. Though 2020 was paused due to the pandemic, her passion remained unshaken. In 2021, she introduced a new tradition: a Children’s Day initiative. Every year on May 27th, children visiting her workplace receive special gifts, ensuring they don’t miss out on the joy and celebration often experienced in schools that day. The office transforms into a space filled with laughter, colour, and care until every single gift is handed out.

Around the same time, Amarachi extended her reach to churches and charity institutions, supplying them with the resources and support they needed to carry out their missions.

The story took a beautiful turn when Amarachi met Vitalis—a fellow changemaker equally committed to making a difference. Their connection was built on faith, service, and love. After getting married, they merged their individual visions into one powerful force: the Vitalis Duru Foundation.

Today, guided by their shared commitment, the Foundation works to build capacity in the religious, educational, and health sectors while addressing the needs of indigent children and young people across Nigeria and beyond.
